Creating professional employment opportunities for teachers fluent in Spanish with authentic connections to and appreciation for the diverse latino culture is one of our preschool's three primary Misson goals. Las Mañanitas Preescolar provides competitive living wages, paid professional development, paid prep time, matching retirement funds, and opt in health insurance.

Expanding to a Center based model would allow Las Mañanitas Preescolar to create more employment opportunities complete with our current benefits, particularly for people whose primary Spanish language fluency may be viewed as a disadvantage in other job settings.

Currently, Las Mañanitas Preescolar operates on a school year calendar and provides learning opportunities for preschool age children.

Expanding to a Center based model would allow Las Mañaitas Preescolar to stay open year-round for children ages birth to TK. While continuing to offer part day, school year calendar programming, we could also offer schedules to better accommodate families who need full-time full-year childcare.

We have long heard from our alumni families that afterschool programs in Spanish for elementary aged children are difficult to find. We also have connections with mental health, speech, and occupational therapists who struggle to find appropriate office space in San Francisco.

Expanding to a Center based model would create opportunities for Las Mañanitas Preescolar to share space and support other small business enterprises, becoming a Spanish bilingual community resource hub.
