Literacy

Little Free Library is a nonprofit organization based in St. Paul, Minnesota with a mission to be a catalyst for building community, inspiring readers, and expanding book access for all through a global network of volunteer-led Little Free Library book-exchange boxes.

The Las Mañanitas Education Foundation shares the vision of Little Free Library to have a Little Free Library in every community and a book for every reader, believing that all people are empowered when the opportunity to discover a personally relevant book to read is not limited by time, space, or privilege.

We are focusing on establishing Little Free Libraries in San Francisco's Southeast Quadrant neighborhoods which are rich in history and culture, yet often lacking in resources.

In 2023 we are proud to announce our inaugural partnerships with three local, inspiring, and community-focused organizations. Each organization has a personal connection to a current or alumni Las Mañanitas student which makes these partnerships even more special.

“We are excited to be inaugural recipients of the Little Free Library provided by the Las Mañanitas Education Foundation, and using our coffee shop as a location for education, literacy access, and resources for the Excelsior-Outer Mission neighborhood. As current parents at the preschool, this gift is even more cherished and personal, and we’re honored to kick off this collaboration and add a little jolt of joy to everyone’s coffee consumption. ¡Muchisimas Gracias, Las Mañanitas Education Foundation!”
