Equity and Access

Established by Kim Garcia-Meza in 2007, Las Mañanitas Preescolar is a home-based Spanish Immersion preschool located in San Francisco’s historic Westwood Park Neighborhood. Kim's personal search for a quality preschool experience in Spanish for her own children as well as her experience as a SFUSD Spanish bilingual teacher in SF’s Mission district led her to begin Las Mañanitas. Please read Kim’s personal statement here on Why I Teach.

Since its foundation, Las Mañanitas Preescolar has actively recruited families with financial assistance needs as a fundamental core value.  Since 2010, Las Mañanitas Preescolar has partnered with San Francisco’s Preschool For All and most recently the SF Early Learning Scholarship funding initiatives to create opportunities for access to our preschool for low- and moderate-income families. Our need-based Scholarship Fund has consistently bridged the gap between city funding and our actual operational costs through the generosity of our preschool families and our larger circle of friends, family, and community partners.

The establishment of our Las Mañanitas Education Foundation non-profit in 2022 offers more opportunities for growth in our fundraising efforts.

We hope that you will consider partnering with us to support our preschool's Scholarship Fund. With your help, we can continue to provide excellent learning opportunities for our city’s most financially challenged families.

The Las Mañanitas Education Foundation is a nonprofit tax exempt 501(c)3 charity with the IRS (EIN 88-3738820)
