Kim Garcia-Meza

Board Secretary

Kim Garcia-Meza has spent over two decades focusing her personal life and professional career on three critical priorities for SF’s children – quality education for all students, resources and support for teachers so they can provide a quality education, effective parent engagement and transparent communication with SFUSD so families can support their children’s education. Starting in 1989, Kim taught as a SFUSD Spanish biligual elementary school educator in San Francisco's Mission District until 2000.  In 2003 she worked for The Reading Tree teaching weekly literacy activities to Spanish speaking toddlers and their families, also in San Francisco's Mission District. In 2006 her search for a quality preschool  in Spanish for her own children led her to begin her own Spanish language preschool.  Kim is the founder, director, and lead teacher of Las Mañanitas Preschool , a thriving and award-winning preschool community.
